February 2015

Bob Pittenger serves as Senior Director of Connections at BattleCreek Church, a multi-campus church where he leads a team dedicated to helping adults connect to the church, community groups, and local mission partners. He also oversees the church counseling ministry and Senior Adult Ministry, while developing sermon-based group resources through the “Beyond the Message” platform and collaborating with creative teams to produce video studies.

Bob has been in vocational ministry since 1994, serving as a Student Pastor, Evangelism Pastor, Senior Pastor, and now Connections Pastor. In 2015, he led Living Oaks Church through a merger with BattleCreek Church, transitioning from Senior Pastor to Connections Pastor. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from The Baptist College of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Southwestern Seminary.

Over the past decade, Bob has helped lead a transformation in group life, growing from 75 to over 420 groups, increasing group leadership from 157 to more than 600, and moving engagement from 17% to 85% of weekend attendance. For the past five years, he has coached Connection Pastors nationwide and helped develop a 12-module coaching framework to equip leaders in building effective group ministries.

Bob is passionate about helping people find their people and live out their purpose, because he believes Life is Better Together.

Bob and his wife, Shirley, have been married since 1994 and have lived in Broken Arrow since 2005. They have one son, William, who is a senior at the University of Tulsa and will graduate in May 2026. As a family, they enjoy trips to the beach and waterparks, along with movie nights and card games. Bob also enjoys golfing with friends, working out, and going for walks.
